Opis

The Royal Castle in Warsaw and the Foundation of the Ciechanowiecki is a publication and exhibition project devoted to the long-standing cooperation between the Royal Castle in Warsaw and the Ciechanowiecki Foundation. It presents the remarkable contribution of Professor Janusz Ciechanowiecki—historian, art collector, philanthropist, and patron of Polish cultural heritage—to the restoration and enrichment of the Royal Castle's collections. Through generous donations, long-term deposits, and financial support, the Foundation helped recover numerous works of art, historical furnishings, paintings, sculptures, textiles, clocks, and decorative objects that recreate the authentic character of the former royal residence. The project highlights the importance of private patronage in preserving Poland's cultural heritage and documents decades of efforts to rebuild and furnish the Royal Castle after its wartime destruction. It also emphasizes Professor Ciechanowiecki's dedication to safeguarding national identity by returning valuable works of art to Poland and making them accessible to future generations. The publication serves both as a record of these achievements and as a tribute to one of the most important benefactors of the Royal Castle in Warsaw.
