Everything is observed and commented on by the sharp-witted and mysterious Domenica MacDonald, who is friends with many local figures. Together with the characters, we visit nearby bars and pubs, meeting a colorful clientele—including the famous writer Ian Rankin and the outspoken politician Tom Dalyell.
