Many drugs must be maintained at steady concentrations while the person ages and goes through life events that may alter that individual's therapeutic level. TDM follows these changes and accommodates them. TDM can also help identify decreases in the efficiency of the body's ability to metabolize and eliminate therapeutic drugs as a result of dysfunctions. Testing may also determine how a medication interacts with co-administered drugs.
